Our Horses

PROMPT SUSIE - Thoroughbred, mare, born May 1976, 15.3hh
Susie is treasured here for many reasons. She and Liesl competed on the "A" hunter circuit in their shared youth and won many awards together.Other than Liesl, Susie has helped countless people to unlock the secrets of horsemanship. There will never be a kinder horse and her sweet and loving nature will capture you as soon as you meet her. She has blessed our family with her companionship for over 27 years. Her job here is to greet and love all who come and she does so with joy.

SINBAD - Arabian, gelding, born April 1987, 14.3hh
Sinbad is one of our most popular and loved mounts.True to his proud Arabian heritage, Sinbad is always ready to go and forms deep bonds with his people. We call him our ferrarri as he is sensitive and well schooled and always ready to show his ability to take the corners at pace. He is a keen jumper and a well schooled dressage mount. The peolpe who ride him love him dearly and he is used part time in the school. He is owned by Lesley Bainbridge and we are so thankful to have him to help our riders learn about this proud breed.

DUNBOY - Connemara Pony, gelding, born April 1995, 15hh
Dunboy is kind and sensitive to all riders from beginner to experienced. He is our most versitile mount who is a stunning jumper, preferring jumping to most of his other ring work. His breed is known for their intelligence and athleticism. Dunboy is all of this and more handling all of his jobs with a down to earth and clear thinking attitude. He belongs to Liesl's dad Monty who used him as a western trail mount. He is also a part time school horse and does it all with a smile!

NEVADA - Welsh PonyXPaint, mare, born May 2000, 13.3hh
Nevada is a keen and intelligent mount who has lots of energy to carry her riders through all their lessons. She is our princess and is always ready to do whatever the kids ask, travelling so lightly she appears to float through the air. She has been with us for just under a year and is fitting in well to the school showing talents in her dressage training. She is becoming a wonderful hunter and will begin her show career this summer. Nevada is doing many of our lunge line lessons as well as the more experienced riders. Her endless supply of energy steals the show every time. She belongs to Liesl and we all love her dearly.

HAZEN - Paint, gelding, born May 2002, 15.3hh
Hazen is our little trouble maker and was purchased by Liesl to help her come to terms with losing Phil as her riding horse. he has a wonderfully sweet and quiet mind however his youth often gets him into all sorts of mischief. He loves to steal jackets (or other possessions) and run through the yard with them in his mouth. You can almost hear his laughter. He is doing very well in his education and is reserved for Liesl and those more experienced riders who wish to improve their skills on a younger horse. He will learn to do it all from dressage to jumping and is already a super trail horse. He and Phil are our pesty boys and will love you from head to toe every time you come.

HANDYMAN - Canadian, gelding, born July 1998, 16hh
Handyman came to us with serious physical injury and has been through an extensive rehabilitation programme. He is a proud and serious horse and requires an experienced rider. His physical condition makes him a trail horse only although he is having some success in the school as a horse for people who are wanting to learn how to handle the more difficult horse. Once he trusts his handler he is a friendly and loyal mount. Until then he is a typical Canadian guy, bossy and full of questions about who is in charge.
